NOSAC Hires Its First Executive Director to Lead the Organization Into the Future.
[January 2024]
The National Organization of State Associations for Children (NOSAC) is pleased to announce our inaugural Executive Director, Janine R. Boyd.
As the nation’s top organization representing thousands of community-based child, youth, and family service organizations, NOSAC is the voice of professionals serving in the behavioral health, substance abuse, education, and prevention systems. The work represented by NOSAC is instrumental to stabilizing children, youth, and families at risk, preventing child abuse and neglect, and facilitating healing from trauma.
As these critical safety net systems undergo reform and change, the expertise of NOSAC is critically important. System change is best driven by those closest to the work and families. And to ensure that NOSAC is a key voice and partner on these important issues, NOSAC has hired an Executive Director to ensure we are a resource to policymakers, national partners, and to our members across the United States.
“As President of NOSAC, I have seen first-hand that NOSAC and our members represent the heart and brains of the child and family serving systems across the country. There is no stronger voice for communities and children than NOSAC. We want to grow our partnerships with organizations that share our steadfast commitment to serving and improving the lives of children and families and increase our support of that shared mission. Now more than ever the voice of NOSAC needs to be heard and we are so pleased to have an Executive Director of Janine’s capabilities, to help us magnify our voice.” –Katie Olse, CEO, Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services
With over 20 years of child welfare policy and advocacy experience, Janine is a passionate and innovative leader. She joins us from the Biden-Harris administration where she was appointed to serve as Regional Director for Region V, at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Previously Janine served as an elected member of the Ohio House of Representatives for almost 8 years and she was the Director of Public Policy & Government Affairs at OhioGuidestone for over 15 years.
“I feel like I’ve come full circle,” Janine shared. “In my career I’ve had the privilege of positively impacting federal policy and passing statewide, bipartisan legislation that strengthens protections for all children and families. I am honored to bring that experience and a spirit of servant leadership to this role.”
In her role as a legislator in Ohio, Janine authored and passed legislation to help improve the lives of children and families, from Kinship Care to Domestic Violence. For more information about Janine’s background, please visit the NOSAC
“Under Janine’s leadership, we are poised to write the next chapter of our organization’s very important story. Her career accomplishments in promoting better outcomes for children and families are aligned with the goals of our organization and we’re excited about our future.” Mark Mecum, CEO, Ohio Children’s Alliance
